NOTHING TO SHOW

I havent done any card making since Tuesday -just been busy with other stuff.

I have done my ironing this morning and cleaned upstairs and got the dinner ready for the kids coming in from school, because I dont want to feel guilty later as I AM GOING OUT TONIGHT to Gala bingo (jumping for joy, cant you tell I dont get out much). But I am happy as its a night out with my friends. So fingers crossed I at least win something.

Don't know what the weather is like from where you are, but it is soooo cold here and very very windy. We had hail stones and rain this morning, but the sun is shining now, for how much longer I dont know. I will have to brave the weather and go get my youngest from school at 3pm - lucky for me its only round the corner.

So I will sign off and hopefully be back on tomorrow to let you know if i won the JACKPOT - doubt it very much!

ANNIVERSARY CARD

Over on the Crafts Beautiful forum they are running a competition where you have to design a card with a photo on it. It can be colour, sepia or black and white. The only thing is, the deadline for entries is the 1st February - so get yourself over there and get a card entered.

I found all the bits for this card tonight as i was having a little tidy up of some folders. I even found a photocopy of the original card that I made. So I did the same as the original.

The small picture postcard was in a pack that I bought from Lakeland and I am sure they were in the sale. The paper and ribbon was from my LCS.

Hope you are all having a great evening - and I also managed to catch bits and bobs of CSI - what about that proposal????? :0) don't want to say anything else just in case any visitors to my blogland haven't seen it yet.

FUNNY MORNING - PLUS A VALENTINE BUG

FIRST THING.

My eldest daughter has 2 rats which she keeps in her bedroom (which i wish she wouldn't), well anyway this morning we all get up at 7am and Caitlyn goes to get washed. I go into her room to get her uniform out for her and there is only 1 rat in the cage. Well panic set in. The kids were running about making as much noise as possible (wrong thing to do) trying to find the rat. So i closed her bedroom door and said to leave the room for a while and get some breakfast then have a look for her. So at 7.30 this morning Caitlyn is sat in the middle of her floor with a piece of ham in her hand trying to tempt the poor lost thing out from where ever she was hiding. Next we heard a bit of scratching in her chest of draws - lo and behold there was Whiskers (her name) sat underneath the bottom draw. When I went to grab her she ran down the side of the bed where it is like a no mans land 'rubbish galore'. So I rang my neighbour (now its 8.05) who likes fishing, to borrow one of his nets. AND IT WORKED - I managed to snag the little **** and get her back into the cage.

Have to say it was quite funny - but then I was like, what would have happened if one of the dogs got her, or she managed to get one of the windows. The kids were delighted to have her back safe and sound and so was I.

SECOND THING

I made this card tonight - as once again hubby is sat on the playstation playing Tomb Raider. Well I don't really mind as there is never any thing on the telly.

I printed it off on my computer and decoupaged the little bug then added some colour. Really quick to do and basic (just the way I like to do them)

JUST A QUICKIE

Check out http://craftsbylouly.blogspot.com she has posted an amazing Maze book. Go check out her blog its fab!

Off to have a shower, then off to bed- so thanks for visiting and hope to see ya all tomorrow.

SUNDAY PEACE & QUIET

Well, for a couple of hours.

Hubby took the kids out today to give me some quiet in the house. They have been manic this weekend and I was ready for pulling my hair out. He told me to make some cards or stuff - so, I didn't feel guilty about having all my craft stuff all over the dining room table.

I managed to make 4 cards , 2 baby ones and 2 general cards. I used the new Dovecraft pack that I bought yesterday and I really like the paper I used. I also used a few brads, and the studio g stamps, which I then doodled a border round. The ribbon on the general cards are from Woolworths, and the ribbon on the baby cards I bought yesterday.

For the baby cards I used the Baby Dovecraft paper pack, which I cut out the cute elephant image, I also used my cuttlebug to emboss the card behind it. The ribbon was bought yesterday.

Sorry again for the bad quality pictures but once again taken this evening. Thanks for looking :)

Another 'LUV' card

Here is another Valentine card that I made late last night, but I thought I would get the picture today in some proper light.

The dark brown card has the heart cut out and I have put it onto sticky fixers.

Been to a local wool shop this morning and came across these ribbons. Great value £1.00 for 5 metres - so all in all 15 metres for £3.00 squid. I also bought the new Dovecraft Retro Floral Prints paper pack for £2.50 and the Studio G Small Square Acrylic Block for £1.25.

VALENTINE CARD

UPDATED WITH A BETTER PIC

Over on the Crafts Beautiful Forum www.crafts-beautiful.co.uk they are running a competition where you have to design a Valentine card without using any Pink or Red.

So here is my effort.

I ran the card through my printer for the (I LOVE YOU) and used my QK to cut out the hearts. I then inked the edges and added some gold ink to the dark heart. I punched and added eyelets and thread ribbon through.

Once again the pictures are terrible, but then it is just after 10 at night. IF I remember I will take some more in the morning.

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME

SINCE I HAVE DONE ANY DIGI-SCRAPPING!!!

I haven't done any for ages and ages. But I was messing around on photoshop and thought I would scrap some stuff. I do have to apologise though as I have no idea who created the paper or any of the embellishments. So if anyone knows please tell me so I can credit the lovely people.

This one I must of started ages ago, reason being the kids are younger in the piccies. So I finished it off (but i might tweak it a little later). I do love using Black & White pictures when I digi scrap as I think it looks classy.

Both the pages are 6in x 6in, so when I finally get some decent ink and photo paper for my printer, they will fit nicely on a A4 sheet.

Seeing that I have done these I might start on the other 300 odd photos I have stored on my computer and get some more layouts completed. (BUT I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH ON THAT).

WOO HOO

I am on a card making streak.

I made some more cards last night which brings my total up to 17. I can't remember the last time I made so many cards. I have had a great time making them.

I have now bagged them up ready to be sold. My dad has said he will buy 4 off me and hopefully the rest will go with my best mate to her work and see if she can sell some for me.

UPDATE

Went to the doctors yesterday about my knee. He gave me information sheets about Osteoarthritis Of The Knee and also prescribed me Dicloflex to help with inflammation and pain. He has also told me to exercise my Quadriceps Muscles at the front of my thigh.
If it doesn't get any better, he said that i would have to make an appointment to see the physiotherapist. So fingers crossed doing the exercises will help the problem.

HOPE YOU ARE SITTING DOWN

YES - I have made some cards

Because the weather was REALLY bad today - rain and more rain - I thought I would have a play about and do some cards.

They were really quick to do and I have to say I LUV them little STUDIO G stamps. I am really bad at stamping but these little things are great. I bought them from ArtyMiss.

Some of the papers are from the DCWV Adhesive Paper Prints Pad and the others are from my LCS - and once again I dont know who the maker is (no name)

Sorry for the state of the piccies but I took them earlier when I had no natural light.

BEEN MESSING

UPDATED WITH PICTURE

Was sooooooooo bored today that I thought I would have a play about and create a new header for on here. The weather has been so bad lately and today was no exception, that I was sat on here (the computer) for a few hours just messing about and came up with the ABOVE^^^^^.

I will probably change it soon as I don't know if the black works well - but I will leave if for a while and see if it grows on me.

Not done any cards this week - no inspiration. But have started another scarf - this time for my eldest. Not rushing with this one, gonna take it slowly. I am enjoying doing them but I have been getting pain in my right hand now for a few weeks (before I started knitting) and finding it a bit difficult to hold the needles. I have booked an appointment to see my doctor next Wednesday as I have a problem with my right knee so I will also mention my right hand and find out whats wrong.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

UPDATED WITH PICTURE

What can I say!

I started on another scarf yesterday for my youngest Avie. She chose Purple, Lilac and White when we went shopping on Saturday and she also wanted stripes. I am so chuffed - I have just finished it - woohoo! She has asked me now to make one for her teacher, because she gets cold! I will have to wait and see, as I really want to get some cards made this week.

So tomorrow i will take some pictures of the new scarf when the lighting is better.

When you get a chance have a gander at this blog - the stuff she makes is way too cute http://www.paper-and-string.blogspot.com/

ALL FINGERS AND THUMBS

Well for the first time in my life (I am 36 now) I have managed to knit a scarf - I have gobsmacked myself.

Now from being a kiddie my mum always tried to show me how to knit, but I really was never interested, I preferred to play out with my mates on the street.

I bought a book called LEARN TO KNIT ages ago and never looked at it until Wednesday night when hubby was watching Arsenal on the telly and I was utterly bored with the footie. I found some yarn that I got ages ago to put on cards and never used it. I found some needles that my dad passed on to me when my mum died and hey ho last night (Friday) I finished my scarf.

I was so determined to get it finished last night and have it ready to wear to school this morning (I wanted to show off my handiwork). The best part in the book for me is 'HOW TO CAST OFF'. Its the one thing I never knew how to do - I knew how to cast on stitches (mum taught me that one) but I knew nothing about finishing the job. And it was so easy!

So on Saturday I am taking the little one so she can choose what colours she wants and i am going to knit her one.

SORRY TO GO ON BUT I AM REALLY CHUFFED!

FIRST OF ALL

HAPPY NEW YEAR
I cant believe its the 8th of January already and I havent posted anything since the 7th December. How bad is that?

Have been very busy here at home with Crimbo and such. Kids had a wonderful time (spoilt rotten again). This picture was taken on Christmas Eve when they were both in great moods (that doesnt happen here much!)

I have actually managed to make some cards as well - which is rare for me at the moment.

The paper is from a DCWV Paper Stack that I got at Christmas from my dad.

This card I made for the lady who owns my LCS - hope she likes it! Her birthday was today. She is such a lovely lady. If you are reading this Vicky I hope you had a wonderful day - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I dont know the maker of this paper but I thought it was gorgeous.
