BEEN MESSING

UPDATED WITH PICTURE

Was sooooooooo bored today that I thought I would have a play about and create a new header for on here. The weather has been so bad lately and today was no exception, that I was sat on here (the computer) for a few hours just messing about and came up with the ABOVE^^^^^.

I will probably change it soon as I don't know if the black works well - but I will leave if for a while and see if it grows on me.

Not done any cards this week - no inspiration. But have started another scarf - this time for my eldest. Not rushing with this one, gonna take it slowly. I am enjoying doing them but I have been getting pain in my right hand now for a few weeks (before I started knitting) and finding it a bit difficult to hold the needles. I have booked an appointment to see my doctor next Wednesday as I have a problem with my right knee so I will also mention my right hand and find out whats wrong.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

UPDATED WITH PICTURE

What can I say!

I started on another scarf yesterday for my youngest Avie. She chose Purple, Lilac and White when we went shopping on Saturday and she also wanted stripes. I am so chuffed - I have just finished it - woohoo! She has asked me now to make one for her teacher, because she gets cold! I will have to wait and see, as I really want to get some cards made this week.

So tomorrow i will take some pictures of the new scarf when the lighting is better.

When you get a chance have a gander at this blog - the stuff she makes is way too cute http://www.paper-and-string.blogspot.com/

ALL FINGERS AND THUMBS

Well for the first time in my life (I am 36 now) I have managed to knit a scarf - I have gobsmacked myself.

Now from being a kiddie my mum always tried to show me how to knit, but I really was never interested, I preferred to play out with my mates on the street.

I bought a book called LEARN TO KNIT ages ago and never looked at it until Wednesday night when hubby was watching Arsenal on the telly and I was utterly bored with the footie. I found some yarn that I got ages ago to put on cards and never used it. I found some needles that my dad passed on to me when my mum died and hey ho last night (Friday) I finished my scarf.

I was so determined to get it finished last night and have it ready to wear to school this morning (I wanted to show off my handiwork). The best part in the book for me is 'HOW TO CAST OFF'. Its the one thing I never knew how to do - I knew how to cast on stitches (mum taught me that one) but I knew nothing about finishing the job. And it was so easy!

So on Saturday I am taking the little one so she can choose what colours she wants and i am going to knit her one.

SORRY TO GO ON BUT I AM REALLY CHUFFED!
